Today's reviews are on "Scott Pilgrim V.S. the World" and "The Other Guys".
"Scott Pilgrim V.S. the World" is about a boy named Scott Pilgrim who is in a band. At one of his gig's, he meets a girl named Ramona Flowers. When they start dating, He is forced to fight Ramona's 7 evil ex's. I thought this movie was highly original for being an adapted screenplay of the anime graphic novels. I thought the story was lacking alot of jokes but it still made me laugh. I thought the visual effects were amazing and I loved the video game and graphic novel type fell to it. I also was impressed by the music and it may have a song that could be nominated for an Oscar or golden globe. I also thought this was one of the only movies that would of been cool in 3D this year because Clash of the Titans, Alice in wonderland, and Toy Story 3 did not need to be in 3D. Toy Story 3 was a nice touch but not needed. I give it 4 stars and a see it.
"The Other Guys" is about two cops who never take a call because one of them is a former accountant who loves to do paperwork so Allen who was demoted after shooting someone is stuck to play solitare all day. Allen threatens Terry that if they don't go on a mission soon that Allen would shoot Terry. Terry picks a very offbeat case involving a building permit that was never given buy millionaire David Ershon. They go on crazy adventures trying to crack the case that made me laugh the whole way through. I thought The Other Guys was hilarious and a way better genre attempted that Cop Out did not bulls eye on. I love all the movies Will Ferrell does and still remains my favorite comedic actor. 4 stars and a big See it.
My DVD movie is "Youth in Revolt" starring Michael Cera from "Scott Pilgrim V.S. the World". It is about a boy Nick Twisp who is an outcast that lives with a poor mom who dates someone new every week including the hilarious Zack Galifanakis. Nick decides to be a bad boy and creates an alter ego named François Dillinger who gets Nick the most wanted person around after crashing into buildings, breaking into an all girls school, and makes a horrible impression on the girl who he is trying to impress' parents. I thought Youth in Revolt wasn't the funniest movies ever but it still had it's laughs. So it's worth 4 stars and a Rent it.
My Trailer review is on Youth in Revolt star Zack Galifanakis' new movie "Due Date" with the worst actor in Hollywood, Robert Downy Jr.. It is about two guys go on a road trip because Robert's character's wife is going to have her baby any day now. This movie looks hilarious because Zack Galifanakis makes every movie worth it so my tolerance for Robert Downy Jr. will have to pass for Zack Galifanakis. Now for trailer reviews I will have an anticipation level scaling 1 to 5 points. My anticipation level is 4 1/2 of 5 points. When I went to see Scott Pilgrim , I saw a new poster hanging and learned that it will be rated R so I guess I'll be waiting until march or April.
That's it for now. Coming Soon: Movie Reviews of Leonardo Dicaprio and Angelina Jolie Movies. Till then, I'll be at the movies.
