My movie reviews are on "Grown Ups" and "The Last Airbender".
Grown Ups is about 5 guys that were on a basketball team as kids and they find out that there coach died about 20 years later. They reunite at the funeral and decide to spend a weekend at a beach house. They teach there kids how they used to have fun and what they did instead of texting and watching tv. This movie reminded me that there are still comedies that arnt all about cussing, sex, and drugs. Ive always loved the movies the Adam Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock, and Rob Schinder do. I couldn't stop laughing at this movie and I give it 4 stars and a big See it.
The Last Airbender is a movie based on the first season (more like the last 2 episodes of the first season) of a nick show Avatar: The Last Airbender. It is about a 12 year old boy that returns as the Avatar after 100 hundred years into a world in war. The fire nation is invading the whole world and it's up to the Avatar to stop it. He is found by two water tribe members that guide him thorugh the 4 elements, Water, Earth, Fire, and Air (which he is a bender of). A banished Prince from the Fire Nation named Zucko must capture him to regain his honor. This movie has to be the biggest disaponitment I have seen in my life. First of all, I knew from the begining that the casting sucked and it showed it throughout the movie. Only 3 characters looked liked the cartoons and that was Aang, Katara, and Princess Yumi and a little bit of Sokka if they cut his long mullet. He really could of been Zucko. Dev Patel who played Zucko was horrible and so was the fire nation actors. And the guy that played Monk Gyotso was an african american when he was an old man in the show. The whole move was if M. Night Symalahn watched the first episode and the last 2 because the rest of the movie was no where near was the tv show was. I wanted to stand up in the movie theater and scream and at the end I wanted to find M. Night Symalahn and punch him in the face for ruining a childhood love of mine. And the action was horrible. It was slow mo the whole time and they destroyed all the laws of the bending because they made the firebenders only bend fire already made from a torch or something where in the show they could do it from nothing. They also mispronounced Aang's name and someone elses that I forget. They didn't even include some of my favorites like King Bumi, Avatar Rouko, Suki, and many others. I thought if Iron Man 2 didn't come out this year, this would of been the worst movie I have seen all year. I give it 1 star and a big fat SKIP IT!
Since we were talking about Adam Sandler Movies with Grown Ups, the DVD reviews are on some of those adult comedies. My first is "I now Prononce you Chuck and Larry". This movie stars Adam Sandler and Kevin James as two straight guys that need money and pretend there a gay couple. They fake a marrige, go to a gay party, and do everything they can do to not go to jail. This movie was also a hilarious movie. I thought they really did a good job with the jokes and all of the gags. My favorite line in the movie is when Larry's son does the splits and his daughter says "Isn't that supposed to hurt his testicals" I loved it and I give it 4 stars and a Buy It.
The next movie stars Rob Schinder and David Spade in "The Benchwarmers". It is about 3 nerds that put a baseball team together of themselves playing against 10 year olds. They are the supprisingly best in the league and a few guys try to stop it. This movie is my favorite comedy. It spoofs a sport I love and it has the best gags in it. I give it 4 1/2 stars and a Buy It!
My Last movie is a preview to Chris Rock's movie "Death at a Funeral". I haven't seen it but this is the DVD I am most intispated for. It is about the death of the father of Chris Rock and Tracy Morgan and a few others' characters. They is all kind of crazy things that happen between truth of a sexuallity, a druged person, and a crazy family reunion. I think this movie looks hilarious and I think Tracy Morgan is the funniest person in the world. It comes out to DVD in August so I will wait a while for it to come out.
That's it for now. I will have a special review tomorrow or later on.
